Winter inspired makeup look

I really enjoy creating makeup looks that are a bit out of the ordinary. This (along with the Japan ispired one) is probably one of my personal favorites here. These photos were made in an improvised studio ( read: white sheet on the wall ) with no professional lightening, using an average camera... and I am really happy with how they turned out ! All thanks to this lovely guy. Hair was my biggest challenge and next time I could really use a hairstylist (because I suck at that). When it comes to the actual makeup look I used my favorite Korean BB cream, silver-ish highlighter, white kajal pencil and the eyelashes that I got  from e-bay. If you are interested to see more photos of this look check my tumblr .

Autumn Tranquility

When I decided to open this new blog I seemed to have forgotten how much time a blog requires, but since I have no sponsors pressure or any other for that matter ( except an obligation to my readers ) I try not to stress about not posting. Traveling is always a good excuse and I had a great time on my trip to Vienna. I could not be bothered to take outfit or blog photos there but I admit that the Vienna background would be a nice change from all the abandoned and ruined places where I usually take my photos. I prefer this kind of places since they are usually quiet and without unwanted spectators.  Luckily ( or unfortunately ? ) we are not short of those kind of places in Bosnia. My friend Nikola took these photos of me on one of those rainy days we had last week. I hope you like them.

I am wearing : thrifted sweater and dress ( the denim thing underneath) , Cheap Monday + DIY jeans, and boots I bought in Antwerpen. More photos soon on my Tumblr .

Own less. Live more.

One of the best decisions I made in the past year was to simplify my wardrobe. As someone who loves fashion I always thought that the more clothes I have the easier it will be to get dressed. The truth is that it only got more stressful. My clothes took over my room; piles everywhere, closets bursting and I still felt like I've got nothing to wear. Owning more than 40 pairs of heels (and I wear heels once a month maybe ) was ridiculous. It was clear to me that the clean out had to be brutal. I am currently getting rid of more than 50% of my closet and let me tell you... it feels great. Having a wardrobe of only pieces that fit perfectly , that are easy to match and that I love to wear feels liberating. All I have to do now is work on changing my shopping habits so I don't end up with more unnecessary crap after the winter sales. My self-discipline will be put to test in a few days since I am traveling to Vienna ( which is one of my favorite towns to shop) but I promised myself that I will stick to the quality over quantity rule when it comes to all of my future purchases.

This outfit is made entirely of items that are staples in my closet. Someone suggested that I should write what I am wearing but I am not sure how useful will that be since the majority of my clothes are vintage & thrifted pieces or something I buy on my travels but here it is anyway : Zara organic cotton top (two or three years old + DIY cropped), vintage Escada leather shorts, thrifted denim shirt, cotton shopper was a gift, my sneakers are old Vans model that I bought in a shop called Episode in Amsterdam and I never go anywhere without my vintage Casio watch.

P.S Some extra shots on my tumblr and huge thanks to Nikola for the photos.

Fashion pet peevs

Yesterday I stumbled upon an article on how to be a successful fashion blogger (successful  here meaning world-wide known with heaps of free shit and invitations to events ) because personal satisfaction alone does not count as success, obviously. Anyhow, one of the first advice given (along with the be original crap) was to keep your text (if you have any at all) short and overall positive. Now, there are people who can say a lot in a few sentences , there are people who have nothing to say and there are people who have something to say but are afraid of saying it or smart enough not to say it (under their own name at least). Since I can afford to be stupid here I'ma  just go and say some things from time to time,  just write a long-ass text with all my pet peeves when it comes to fashion and blogging. Label it as immature , arrogant and whatnot because, after all , we are all perfectly sane and happy people who never get annoyed, right? So, here is my pet peeve of the week : the grunge trend . Do not get me wrong here I love everything about grunge as I grew up listening to that kind of music but what I hate is fucking raping of the grunge by people who are an example of everything that is opposite to grunge. My general rule is : skip everything you don't feel is YOU and yes, even if you are a fashion blogger, you are allowed to skip a trend. Apparently, the formula of an outfit on trend these days is a plaid shirt preferably tied around the waist and paired with a leather biker jacket. If I got a penny for every time I saw an outfit like that (online or on the street) I would probably now be somewhere exotic not giving a fuck about what someone else wears. Maybe I am overthinking this but  basically , I  had two options here : 1. Stop wearing anything reminiscent of every high street brand window set-up and wait till the next trend comes along so that everyone can heedlessly flock to that or 2.  Wear it in my own interpretation . Ok... I am definitely overthinking it. I blame PMS. For the fact that the intro of my post has almost nothing to do with the end and for the abuse of brackets , I also blame PMS.

Huge thanks to my friend Nikola for taking these photos.

Japan Street Style

With the fashion weeks ending one can not help but notice how artificial the street fashion outside the shows is. Back in the day I was naive enough to believe that everything was done spontaneously, that the walking commercials of some people do not really pass by Tommy Ton for ten times to get shot but hey .. that is the fashion world today. Nothing I can do about it except turning my attention to the street style sites that feature people who wear outfits that are "out there" for their own thrill. Even when I can not possibly imagine myself wearing some of those I really enjoy and appreciate the effort that the average person puts into creating such looks. I am talking about the Japanese street fashion, of course. In this selection of looks I left out the extreme subculture ones and decided to post some of my personal favorites, although some of them are up to three years old  I still find them interesting, nevertheless.

Fall layers

Fall is my favorite season to dress for but with it's unpredictable weather it can be the trickiest one as well. This is where the practical advantages of layering come in handy. The ability to add or shed bits of clothing and still look put together is a modern survival skill. 21st century layering doesn't really care for the rules your mother taught you. Your skirt should not be longer than your coat , your shirt should not hang out under your jacket... Forget all that. Do whatever you feel comfortable in.

P.S Huge thanks to my friend Nikola for these photos. This location was not planned at all. We went for coffee first, started shooting at one place and somehow ended here.

Life through instagram

In only one year of my instagram existence I grew completely addicted to it , even to the point that if I had to choose only one social platform to exist on it would be an easy choice ( I use exist because we all know that one does not exist if one does not have internet presence of any sort). My instagram account is private which is probably not the best choice if you are a fashion blogger . I find the fact that everyone can see all your photos more disturbing than the small number of followers. It is a real pity that you can not set privacy settings for every upload separately cause that would make it just perfect. Anyway,  here are  some of the photos that I do not mind sharing with everyone.  I barely managed to sort more than 100 photos I have posted there in these 3 collages ( while trying to do it thematically).

I mostly instagram my travels since I am a huge travel junkie :

Inspired by Japan

I have always been fascinated with Japanese culture. Two years ago my best friend started working for Japanese embassy so I was lucky enough to learn even more about it through the events they organize. Beside being masters of design Japanese people can be very proud of their cinematography. I fell in love with their anime movies especially. This little editorial was inspired by  5 Centimeters Per Second . If you never watched this kind of  movies this weekend could be a great opportunity to cuddle up with your boyfriend (or cat) and do so . All of  Hayao Miyazaki movies are not to be misses as well. Do a marathon! I promise you'll cry no matter how tough you are. If you happen to be in Sarajevo any time from Sept 12 - Oct 14 you are all invited to Japanese Culture Month, more details here.

Having Asian looking eyes finally payed off :D I really enjoyed creating this make up look since I love make up even more than fashion ( lipstick is a DIY version of this Lime Crime one and wig is from e-bay)  More photos of this look will be posted soon on my Tumblr where ,in the meantime, you can find some of the outfit photos from my previous blog since many of you are here for the first time and some asked to see what I did before (do take into consideration that some outfits are up to 3 years old ) :D
P.S Huge thank to Vladan for taking and editing the photos (the cherry blossom ones are from Google image base) .

Walk a little taller

Two hours after I published my first post I grabbed my suitcase and went on a 10day vacation. I tried to avoid internet altogether and if it wasn't for my ever-growing addiction to instagram I would have been able to do so. That is the reason why I am late with publishing some of your comments. Thank you all for your feedback, even to the bloggers who took the time to trash me as if I wrote something no one knew about. I guess it is just one of those things everyone sees but feels uncomfortable to address or some people really live in a bubble ? I fully support everyone's right to run their blog any way they want. Even some people who are very close to me have different views and aims when it comes to blogging and I respect that but it will not stop me from writing whatever the fuck I want here. Every blog has it's audience and I just wanted to make a cut when it comes to mine. I am not sure to what extent is that possible but I hope my future posts/work will do the job better than the talking.

I took these photos before I went on my trip and got around to posting them just now.  I have been loving crop tops way before they became a trend ( I just did not call them that way ) I used to chop off  some of my tops because I always loved wearing high-waisted jeans/skirts (thinking that they make me look  taller ) and tucking tops in would only create unwanted bumps around the waistline. The base of this outfit is as simple as it gets so I added this oversized mesh shirt as a bit of cover up and a talking piece. When I picked it up at a flea market I did not really have a clear idea how to use something so tacky ( if you think of late 80ties mens mesh shirts ) but there was something about it that did not let me leave it there.
P.S Do not mistake my hair color for an ombre ( I got over that three years ago when I had it) I am in a process of getting the color I want (have in my mind actually ) so it will probably be different in every post until I get there.
